No to fear, not to fear, I haven't died or anything. I've just been extremely lax in my blogging.
Last year....Let's see...
Well the first part of the year I concentrated on my business. I did pretty well too.
Then the second part of the year I had to mentally wrap my head around having major heart surgery, have said surgery, then recover.

All of which I have done.
Now onto this year....

The night of New Years Eve, I decided to go out with my husband and celebrate the new year.....I had a lot to celebrate!!!!
My heart was working better, I felt great, LOTS more energy, everything was on track...
I went out onto the dance floor, was talking to my friend who headlined the band, and proceeded to face-plant on the dance floor!
I honestly don't remember anything after that except waking up and wondering why my face hurt.
I looked in the mirror and holy crumb! I looked like I lost a bare knuckle brawl! We went for x-rays and it was determined that I am an idiot, and that I can no linger drink a bottle of wine in one sitting. Nothing was broken.Thankfully!

Then a couple weeks later, my father passed away.
Vern Bish

My brother came up to MI and we spent the week together.

Since then, nothing much is going on. I don't remember February at all and March is a blur.

Now it is April and I am starting anew....

I'm Baaack

Ok, I'm trying to be back.

Suffice to say that in the past few months, my life has been a little out of control.

What has been keeping me so busy you may ask?

Well... the end of February, I took on a new business venture. I'm not at liberty to discuss the details online, suffice to say that I am now in the direct marketing world, hoping to become a home-show queen!!!!(just so you know, it's not vitamins, potions and lotions, candles, make-up, or food items--think bling)
So far I really love it and it keeps me out of trouble(yeah right!!!)

I do miss my clay though, and my plan is to try and eek back into the creating then selling on-line part of my life.
I really want to get my hands into some clay!!! Darn-it all!!!!
See you soon.

My Friends @ PPCG

I am so, so lucky to be part of this guild...
I found them online, and even though I live in another state, and only see them once a year, they accept me with open arms and hugs every time.
The following is a big event that next year I promise I will attempt to be a part of.
Good Luck!!! I'm thinking about you guys!!!!

Life...What it means to me.

I need to pass on a little antidote I read a while back,
It is by genius author Terry Prachett. ...Death is a character, that he often uses (yes, think of the tall skeletal figure in the black cowl-I forgot the title of the book but you can find him here)

Well, Death shows up where naturally, a lady has died.
She sees Death and is outraged, "What!!!! I'm Dead!" she screams. "But I thought Life was suppose to  flash before your eyes?!?"
Death smiles his toothy, macabre grin, nods, and states, "Yes, yes, it does, it's called living."

I love this, it says so much. To me, it says that we need to LIVE every moment of every day.
'But I do.', you might be saying to yourself. But do you really? How often do we notice things like sunsets, pretty flowers or just take a moment from running from task to task to breathe. It's a struggle for me.

So, keeping that in mind, here are a few of my friends from the Polymer Clay Smoochers Guild  and a couple of things that I stopped to admire and think about LIFE.....
The first is a beautiful Butterfly (I love butterflies) from Lynn and her Artfire store Desert Rubble.

Second, I tend to eat on the fly often pulling through somewhere and downing a burger just for substance. How much better is food when we really sit down and taste it??? It is part of Living.
Having said that,

These earrings look good enough to eat. Created by Janet Saw with her Artfire store by the same name.
Actually, I could really go for a slice of Chocolate Pie right now (who am I kidding? I could go for a slice anytime!!!!)

Lastly, Valerie with her Artfire shop Valerie's' Stuff.
I love watching the birds, especially now as they return for the beginning of Spring to start having babies. They always look so beautiful in flight.

So, ultimately, the question is this:
Are you taking the time to enjoy your LIFE???
(I hope you were able to answer "yes!!!")

Blizzard Warning .... WHAT????

So, it's the First Day of February, and what is on our plate as we yearn for an early Spring???
Yup, that's right, A FREAKING BLIZZARD....
I want to show off the talents of my wonderful Smoocher Guild friends.

Instead of showing ickie winter things, I'm going to be positive, and show some Summery things like this...
A coffee lover like me,this is from Lois, owner of ArtFairlyAware
 Artfire shop.

Couldn't turn this one down...(it's what I spend my Summer collecting)
with her Artfire shop by the same name

Keeping with the beach Let's add this...
with her Artfire shop by the same name

And how could I leave the sea without including this...
Isn't she beautiful? She is made by Jane P
owner of the bluejane Artfire shop.

Well, there you go. Maybe this will make you feel a little warmer...
I know me either, but it was worth a shot right???
Stay warm!!!

Off And Running...

Well, here it is the new year and I am off to an auspicious start.
It took three long months and a massive learning curve but now I am finally selling online. Yay me.

My Handmade Christmas turned out pretty well. I took the pledge and found many of my purchases online at Artfire or Etsy .

I of course made resolutions, create daily, maintain healthy relationships, don't overspend,*snicker*and the one I break every year EAT HEALTHIER (yeah right!!!!) I just like coffee and chocolate way way too much!  But honestly I am doing a tiny bit better at this (huge achievement after 2 weeks......he-he)

While I can't say I have been up on my posting, I will state that I'm going to get better. I hope, in the coming year to post every few days....
Having said that, it is my wish, that if you do get a chance to visit that you leave a comment. Good or bad I won't be mad. Thanks for your patience....Kbish

Romance

Romance is dead they say....I say 'the Hell it is!!!'
As we go through life we need romance to keep us alive..."Romance" is another word for "Hope".
As we grow-up we become disillusioned by romance, and what it means we start telling ourselves and others that we are hopeless romantics (like me- where we find romance in the most mundane of things) Or, hopeful romantics who are always looking to find love(which I was until I found my guy.)
The following are some polymer clay creations, by the Polymer Clay Smoochers Gulid of Artfire
They speak to me of "Romance".:

Typical when we think of romance...the Heart.
Here is a beautiful representation by
Niki of
I was married in the Fall
This piece just sings to me of that day.
Beautifully created by,
Rebecca Hadley of phoenixartstudio

Then of course, people will romanticize seasons and holidays.
By people, I of course mean me, but others do it as well.
Here is a lovely holiday tradition, captured in a jewelry set:
Created by,
Dana Jones of  DanasJewelryEtc
There are a lot of things that bring romance to mind and these are just a few for me.

My First Collection

Welcome to my first collection

Handmade Jewelry

In creating this collection, I was amazed at the talent and  craftsmanship displayed in all the different styles and types of boxes...While I could have chosen to include other boxes, and believe me there are plenty of gorgeous ones.  However, I choose to focus on polymer clay boxes like the one I added to this collection

What a Weekend!!!!

My Goodness!!!
I have had quite a weekend!!!

Well, it started Friday, where I had to be at work at 6:30 a.m.(I don't think God is even up at that hour)
But I digress...So there I was at 6:30AM getting ready to Board Op on a remote for the radio station. They were broadcasting from the House of Flavors, as we do every other week. They are nice there and Chet and I have done this so often now that we are in a kind of groove- so that is good.
After the remote, I ran some errands, and went to an artist reception. That was fun.

I went over to my friend Deb's house that night, where we planned to watch the Fireworks.

We had a great time, we ended up, going across the street to her neighbors house, where we polished off a bottle of wine, and told stories until about midnight.

Then after a quick sleep, it was time to head back to the station and get ready for the Parade.

The Forest Festival, is one of the big events here in town. So once the Parade was done,(I waved my little heart out!!!) I grabbed Deb and we headed for the Art Fair.
I saw lots of great stuff....
And spent a bit of money...Meanwhile, my husband (who was also in the parade) went to the bar to party with some friends. A great time was had by all.

Then Sunday rolls around. D and I got up and went to breakfast, then headed down to Ludington to the Art Fair (about 30 miles from our house).
We walked all over and I found a pair of shoes I loved.

(these are not my shoes, mine have cats on them!!!!)

Then it was back home, and get ready for the MAI Reception at the Ramsdell Theater, where I drank a little too much wine, but had a great time!!!!

What a fantastic weekend! Aside from spending a little too much money, I had a wonderful time! Now I just have to rest up for next year!!!!

Farewell to my friend

Today, I found out that a friend has passed away.

In this day and age, it is not uncommon for someone to live to be over 100 years old. Willard Scott pays tribute to these individuals on the early morning Today Show.

My friend was over 100. She was 102!!!

When I first met her, she wasn't quite there yet.
In fact, I was introduced to her through another friend a septuagenarian. (the youngest spirit I've ever met- she is the one who informed me of the loss)

Bea was a wonderful lady. Quick to laugh, warm of spirit, and smart. Several years ago, the three of us went up north to Mackinaw Island.

We saw these sights and may others. It was a wonderful trip, a happy one.

In her decline, Bea wasn't able to get out as much and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play Scrabble with her. She would beat the pants off me every time!!!!
She was a very good player. I won't find another opponent to match her any time soon.

In her youth, Bea helped out in WWII as a translator. She was veteran of foreign wars. I mentioned this to her once "Yes" she said,"I guess I am"

She was a quiet lady, however,if you asked, she always had interesting stories to tell.

I love you Bea,

You will be missed
